The Yorkshire Law Society Triathlon Challenge held on Saturday 23rd July at Castle Howard was a huge success and expected to raise over £1000 for York Against Cancer. Peter Kay, Senior Director of Ware & Kay and President of the Yorkshire Law Society and six teams made up of members of the Yorkshire Law Society took part in the 'Super Sprint Triathlon'.  The challenge was for the participating relay teams to beat Peter's Champion, William Kaye from Harrowells and for every minute that William beat the relay team, Peter pledged to pay £1 to his chosen charity York Against Cancer. Teams from Andrew Jackson, Quality Solicitors Burn & Co, Harrowells Solicitors, Ware & Kay Solicitors including two relay team from Dere Street Chambers competed against William. For the first time ever, the Yorkshire Law Society is organising a Triathlon Challenge to raise money for York Against Cancer. The event will take place on Saturday 23rd July at Castle Howard and Peter Kay, Senior Director of Ware & Kay Solicitors and President of the Yorkshire Law Society has invited members to take part in a 'Super Sprint Triathlon'.  It comprises a 400m open water swim in Castle Howard's Great Lake, a 23km cycle and a 4km run through the Estate with the Howardian Hills providing the backdrop. Pearsons & Ward, the Malton office of Ware & Kay Solicitors Ltd have donated £500 to local charity Acorn Community Care centre at Whinflower Hall Farm, based in Norton.  The charity provides a range of services which are a vital lifeline for young adults with learning and/or physical disabilities in the Ryedale and North Yorkshire areas. New signage at Ware & Kay Solicitors in York has now been erected which is designed to improve visibility for visitors to their offices. David Hyams, Director said "The Ware & Kay offices occupy a highly prominent site on the York inner ring road due to the distinctive 'Red Clock' which is an important feature of the building and our profile.  We were delighted to work with Property Consultants Lawrence Hannah who helped to achieve a successful application with York City Council.  As we are in a Conservation Area the signs could not be overly intrusive in terms of positioning and size, but we were able  to improve the prominence of the signage by  lightly increasing the size of the lettering and changing the colour scheme.  The important aspect to the new signage is that…

THE countdown to the third Jane Tomlinson 10K run in York has begun. In only three day's time, more than 6,000 people will line up at York Racecourse to take part in the race set up in memory of the inspirational fundraiser, who dedicated the final years of her life to raising money for charity while suffering from cancer. Joining the start line this year will be David Kershaw, Solicitor at Ware & Kay who is running with the Yorkshire Law Society Team to help raise funds for Martin House Hospice. Ware & Kay Solicitors are gearing up for another Tour de Yorkshire with riders passing their Wetherby offices on Friday 29th April. To make the most of this, Ware & Kay are supporting the local cycle shop, Wetherby Bike Shack, who are marking the event with some exciting activities for the community to take part in as they wait for the cyclists to race through the town. Dean Buckle, owner of the Wetherby Bike Shack and "Townsperson of the Year" is the driving force behind the Tour de Yorkshire events in conjunction with the Wetherby Town Council.  Dean is rallying the business community together including volunteers from the Wetherby Lions, the Fire Brigade and Sant' Angelo's Restaurant to create a fun day to enable the people of Wetherby and visitors to enjoy the full benefits…
