A team of 13 volunteers representing Ware & Kay Solicitors (with offices in York, Wetherby & Malton) raised £1,500 for homeless organisation Kitchen for Everyone York by sleeping out. Kitchen for Everyone York was originally set up in November 2015 to fill a gap in services providing food for the homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded from York. With over 100 volunteers this charity has now grown to include 2 sessions providing meals and an outreach programme when teams hand out hot drinks and snacks to people on the streets. This small non-profit organisation relies solely on volunteers and donations. On Friday 22nd June 13 members of staff from Ware & Kay Solicitors (York, Wetherby & Malton offices) will be putting themselves in the shoes of the homeless when they spend the night sleeping in cardboard boxes in the York office car park to raise money for Kitchen for Everyone York #KEY. Kitchen for Everyone York is a small local organisation in Spurriergate which works to support the homeless by providing meals and outreach programmes and opens its doors to thousands of vulnerable people in York.  The organisation has experienced a substantial increase in the numbers of people asking for their help which is why Ware & Kay are keen to help raise money. As part of Ware & Kay Solicitors' involvement in community activities the firm are supporting Wetherby Rugby Union Club by hosting a corporate event on Saturday 2nd April for clients and professionals. Ware & Kay have enjoyed a strong working relationship with Wetherby Rugby Club.  They have also shown their commitment over the years in several ways and are now providing match-day sponsorship. Wetherby Rugby Club, which is due to play against Thornensians from Doncaster, has not been beaten in any competition since February 2014.  In real terms over 50 matches unbeaten.  They were promoted from Yorks Div 4 to Yorks Div 3 in season 2014-2015 and they are  currently top of Yorks Div 3, looking to earn promotion to Yorks Div 2 within the next two or three weeks.  This match may even see…

Ware & Kay are delighted to be supporting Tadcaster Albion Football Club once again by sponsoring their forthcoming fixture against Skelmersdale United on Saturday 21st October. Ware & Kay have enjoyed a strong working relationship with Tadcaster Albion over the years.  As well as sponsoring the match Ware & Kay have also shown their commitment by purchasing a Ware & Kay brand board for the perimeter of the football field throughout the 2017-2018 season. Ware & Kay supported Tadcaster Albion Football Club by sponsoring the fixture against Skelmersdale United on Saturday 21st October.  Unfortunately Tadcaster Albion lost only their second home game in the Evo-Stik North this season, as they were beaten 2-1 in a hard-fought match. David Hyams, Director for Ware & Kay who chose Pete Davidson as the man of match said "We were thrilled to accept the opportunity to sponsor Tadcaster Albion and had a great afternoon.  The team really did well but despite some clear-cut chances to equalise Tadcaster Albion lost their home game.  We certainly wish the team and the rest of the club every success in the future and will be following their progress closely."

How does our Will Writing Scheme work? We have offered to give both our time and expertise for free to support York Teaching Hospital Charity's Will Writing Scheme. It's really simple to take part: 1. Contact us between 2nd and 13th October 2017 to make an appointment. Be sure to mention York Teaching Hospital Charity Will Writing Scheme. We have limited availability so please book early to avoid disappointment. 3. Complete the pledge form in this leaflet and hand it to us at your appointment. 4. At your first appointment we will discuss your intentions and then draft your Will. 5. You will need a second appointment within 6 weeks of the first to approve, complete and sign your Will*. A team of 28 volunteers representing Ware & Kay Solicitors (with offices in York, Wetherby & Malton) raised £2,691.59 for the Charlie Mortimer Fund by climbing Yorkshire's Three Peaks on 24 September. The team was made up of staff, family members and friends aged between 13 and 70 and saw all participants putting their fitness, stamina and organisational skills to the test by climbing the mountains of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. A total ascent of around 1,585 metres over 25 miles was walked, scrambled, climbed and run in less than 12 hours. The Charlie Mortimer Fund was founded following the unexpected death of Charlie, a young boy from Malton, on the 15th August 2009. Charlie had undiagnosed MCADD, a rare genetic condition where the sufferer has problems breaking down fat to use as an energy…
