DONATION TO PRESIDENT'S CHARITY OF THE YEAR
Michael Peach, the President of the Yorkshire Law Society and Director from Ware & Kay Solicitors Ltd handed over a cheque to Martin House Children's Hospice after raising money for his chosen charity throughout the last year.
Ware & Kay have been active supporters of Martin House for many years and last year Michael took time out of his busy working schedule at Ware & Kay where he specialises in Commercial and Residential Property to visit the hospice. This has enabled him to understand the work that it does for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses and their families both during their lifetimes but also in the years following their bereavement. The hospice is the only one for children and young people in North, West and East Yorkshire.
Michael said "We consider ourselves to be a law firm that is a big part of the community and it has been a privilege to help raise money for this well deserving charity. Handing over the cheque is just our way of saying thank you for all the work that Martin House carries out".
A grand total of £2,300 was raised and John Haigh, Corporate Fundraiser at Martin House said "We were delighted to have the support of the Yorkshire Law Society for the past 12 months. Thank you to Michael Peach and everyone concerned who helped to raise such a fantastic sum of money. All of the care and support provided by Martin House is free to over 340 children, young adults and their families, and also 90 bereaved families, across the Yorkshire region. The money raised will go a long way towards providing this vital care. Thank you again from all of the families and staff at Martin House."
