The ideal candidate:

We are looking to recruit a full time Solicitor at our Malton office with specialist Agricultural & Commercial Property knowledge who can advise clients in relation to the full spectrum of agricultural work including:

Agricultural

  • Advising landlords and tenants on the grant/renewal of Farm Business Tenancies, Agricultural Holdings Act Tenancies and Grazing Licences.
  • Advising sellers and purchasers in relation to the purchase disposal of agricultural properties and/or businesses.
  • Separate representation for lenders in relation to establishing security for funding requests.
  • Advising clients in a range of development agreements, such as option agreements, easements and clawback agreements.

Commercial Property

  • Advising landlords and tenants on the grant/renewal of leases of commercial properties.
  • Advising sellers and purchasers in relation to the purchase disposal of commercial properties and/or businesses.
  • Separate representation for lenders in relation to establishing security for funding requests.
  • Advising clients in a range of development agreements, such as option agreements.
  • Any ad hoc and ancillary matter relating to commercial property

General

  • Any ad hoc and ancillary matter relating to agricultural property
  • Raising appropriate enquiries and considering documentation.
  • Drafting correspondence and documentation.
  • Dealing with agents, solicitors, clients and other individuals in the transaction.
  • Ensuring the transaction runs as smoothly and quickly as appropriate for the situation.
  • Legal research where required.

The candidate will need outstanding communication skills in order to build on business, and sustain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

The candidate would also need to have the experience required to be easily marketable to agricultural agents, lenders and clients alike.
