Roger Boreham, a Solicitor for Ware & Kay with offices in York and Wetherby was today marking his retirement after over 41 years in the legal profession.
Roger, 68, who is celebrating this evening with family, friends, colleagues and clients at The Wetherby Golf Club, built up a reputation as a hugely knowledgeable Wills & Probate solicitor with particular expertise in Tax Planning and Trusts.
London born and with a science degree from Nottingham University, Roger worked initially for the Inland Revenue and then started in the legal profession in 1974. Over the years Roger has had experience in all sizes of legal firms and joined Ware & Kay in 1999 as a Consultant and then joined the partnership in 2002, with Tax Planning, Wills, Probate and Trusts being his areas of expertise.
Roger said "I feel that the time is right to move on to the next phase of my life now that I am approaching 68 years old and explore the benefits of retirement. I have enjoyed forming business relationships and appreciate the trust clients have put in me and my firm. Whilst I am still enjoying working, I am conscious that there are a lot of fresh-minded and intelligent people at Ware & Kay to whom I should pass the baton and let them run on.
In Wetherby, Catherine Jennings and Bella O'Keeffe have been working with me and are both very experienced and sensitive to client's wishes. At our York office Ian Fisher, Clare Presley & Sian Foster have many years of experience between them.
I will be sad to see an end to my work in Wetherby and York. I am consoled however, that those I have served in the past will be well served in the future.
Roger said he plans to enjoy his life with his wife and children as well as concentrate on his hobbies which include music, walking, gardening and art.
Michael Peach, Director at Ware & Kay, Wetherby and immediate Past President of the Yorkshire Law Society said "I speak for everyone when I say we shall all miss Roger and wish him a long and happy retirement. He will be greatly missed especially in the Wetherby office where he was based. We offer our thanks to Roger for his many years' service with the firm. We are confident that we can continue to provide Roger's clients with the same, excellent level of service that they received from him".
