Leading law firm Ware & Kay incorporating Pearsons & Ward, with offices in York, Wetherby and Malton, is pleased to announce three new Head and Deputy Heads of Office promotions for its York and Malton offices. The promotions take effect immediately, with each individual combining their new responsibilities with their existing client-facing role within their areas of expertise.

Louise Davis has been promoted to Senior Associate and Head of Residential Property in Malton. A seasoned property law expert, Louise has been part of the residential property team in the York office for over 11 years since she qualified. She brings substantial expertise in all areas of residential property matters, including high-value property sales and purchases, managing buy-to-let investments, overseeing mortgages and remortgages, executing transfers of equity, and assisting clients with new build property purchases.

Louise shared her enthusiasm for the new role, stating: “I am very excited to be joining the firm’s residential property team in Malton. My aim is develop the firm’s residential property department and expand the existing client base across Ryedale and beyond.”

Catherine Edge has been promoted to Senior Associate and Deputy Head of Residential Property in York. Catherine, who qualified as a Solicitor in 2009 and joined Ware & Kay in 2020, specialises in all aspects of residential property. She assists clients with buying and selling both freehold and leasehold properties for registered and unregistered land, has extensive experience in buying and selling at auction, and is well-versed in purchasing buy-to-lets.

Catherine expressed her excitement about the promotion, stating, “I am thrilled to be offered this promotion. At a time when demand for residential property remains exceptionally high, I cannot wait to leverage my knowledge and experience to ensure a continued delivery of high-quality legal advice and service for our clients.”

Debbie Gilpin has been promoted to Senior Associate and Deputy Head of Wills & Probate in York. Debbie qualified as a Solicitor in 2007 and has many years of experience assisting clients with the preparation of their Wills, providing guidance in managing the administration of estates through Probate, advising on Trusts and Inheritance Tax, and providing advice regarding Powers of Attorney.

Debbie remarked, “I am delighted to be offered this excellent opportunity to take a proactive approach in the development and success of the department. My aim will be to continue to work with our expert team to develop the wills and probate offering”.
