The Yorkshire Law Society Annual Dinner took place on 19th November at the Merchant Adventurers' Hall.
Guests were warmly welcomed by President Michael Peach who is also Director of leading law firm Ware & Kay Solicitors Ltd. The guest speaker was Justin Urquhart Stewart who entertained everyone with his up-to-date observations on the economy.
Long time listeners of Justin will know the sound of Justin Urquhart Stewart's voice as one of the most popoular, recognisable public speakers and trusted market commentators appearing regularly on television and radio as well as writing in numerous magazines and newspapers. Justin was more than willing to give everyone the benefit of his wisdom and experience, particularly over events which are challenging and concerning for investors and also give us his take on what is happening in the world economy. In addition, he provided members and guests with some meaningful predications on the effects that the forthcoming general election will have on the business environment in a most informative and entertaining manner.
As President, Michael invited many members of the team from Ware & Kay together with their guests. The firm which is based in York & Wetherby offers a broad range of legal services and pride themselves on their approachability and their commitment to building lasting relationships with clients and this when combined with traditional client care has given them a well-recognised reputation.
The dinner was attended by 106 guests, including the Lord Mayor and Sheriff of York, members of the judiciary and members of the legal profession of York and North Yorkshire and their guests. The Merchant Adventurers' Hall proved to be a stunning venue and the food and wine appeared to be thoroughly enjoyed by all.
