THE countdown to the third Jane Tomlinson 10K run in York has begun.
In only three day's time, more than 6,000 people will line up at York Racecourse to take part in the race set up in memory of the inspirational fundraiser, who dedicated the final years of her life to raising money for charity while suffering from cancer.
Joining the start line this year will be David Kershaw, Solicitor at Ware & Kay who is running with the Yorkshire Law Society Team to help raise funds for Martin House Hospice.
Michael Peach, Director at Ware & Kay and President of the Yorkshire Law Society chose Martin House Children's Hospice near Wetherby as his chosen charity and his aim is to promote the fantastic work that it does for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses and their families both during their lifetimes but also in the years following their bereavement. The hospice is the only one for children and young people in North, West and East Yorkshire.
David said "I am delighted to take part in this run in order to support this worthwhile cause and thank everyone for sponsoring me. There is always a great team spirit among the volunteers and the fantastic support of all those who help means that we are able to maximise the funds raised for Martin House".
