Leading law firm Ware & Kay Solicitors is delighted to announce the appointment of Jack Hedley as the new Risk and Compliance Officer for the firm.
Jack specialises in ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations, professional and practice standards, maintaining practice manuals and policies and proactively keeping abreast of changes in the regulatory field. He will also ensure that the relevant legal, financial and data protection legislation and frameworks are adhered to.
His role will see him act as the ‘eyes and ears’ of industry body the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), ensuring that structures and procedures are in place as the company continues to grow.
Originally from Newcastle Jack arrives at Ware & Kay with over 8 years’ experience in the legal industry. Having completed a law degree at Leeds University in 2013 before spending time in the industry he started his career in Compliance in 2018 at a firm of Solicitors based in Leeds. With a breadth of experience as a Quality Controller, Compliance Associate & Compliance Analyst, Jack will work closely with the whole team to maintain legal standards in the firm.
Speaking about his appointment Jack said: “I am incredibly passionate about offering the right level of support and training in the workplace, which is vital. As well as ensuring the firm is compliant with all industry standards at all times, my focus will also be sharing my experience – the good and the bad – to help develop quality solicitors and paralegals for the future and building on what is already an extremely talented and cohesive team.”
